Genie Johnson is The Sound Masseuse. Since receiving her Sound Healing certification in 2009, she has used her gifts to comfort and provide some measure of peace. She licensed as a Spiritual Coach in 2014, and later extensively studied Integrative Health at ASU. Her work with sound started with 11th - Hour hospice and grief support, and has since taken her into hospital oncology units, physicians’ clinics, medical coops, universities, yoga studios, and more as well as working with private clientele. "More than a passion or a purpose, I am a comforter and a companion - abiding in the presence of Peace, even as I help others navigate the seeming emotional chaos of grief."

YOUR Affirmative Prayer PARTNER
A really good listener by nature, Genie honed that aptitude through formal studies, but more importantly by experiential observation of clients over the years. Rather you have a church home or not, sometimes it's just easier to speak freely with a remote listener who is trained to listen, to hear you out, and help you get to the spiritual truth of what's going on in your life through affirmative prayer. Affirmative prayer, beyond supplication, seeks to highlight spiritual laws that naturally and specifically apply.

Over the course of a 4 year program, Genie studied and licensed, as a Prayer Practitioner and Spiritual Coach through the Holmes Institute and the foundations of her style of affirmative prayer was rooted at that time. She remains fascinated with how people develop and cultivate long-term faith in life, and honors all life-affirming religious and spiritual traditions.

Having a strong sense that the state of mind that individuals are in as they are transitioning matters, and feeling called to help that be as positive as possible, she trained and worked with 11th-hour hospice patients, at both Altus Hospice & Good Shepard Hospice and facilitated group activities, personal visits, and played Singing Bowls for annual city wide memorial service. Though most clients were catatonic when she was called in, they showed a surprising level of response to the soothing sounds and her presence. Staff and family present always appreciated the temporary respite from the weight of lingering grief. She also attended the Living Through Change Bereavement Training with Rev. Dr. Luckenbach, a noted Bereavement Specialist because this program was complimentary to her commitment to the other side of bereavement.
